Nature & Photography Club was established in year 2004 under the social harmony programme of IRQUE Project. It is one of the most active clubs in the Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Various activities organized by the club guide students to cope with stress of studying, which is an important objective of the Nature Club. Field visits to National Parks, sanctuaries & forests, annual bird & butterfly count, ‘Moments’ photography exhibition, workshops & lectures are just some of the other highlighted work where the members appreciate the biodiversity of flora & fauna of Sri Lanka. Environmental conservation is always conveyed to the students & the community through the publications of the Club - ‘Hornbill’ monthly news teller, ‘Thinetha’ annual magazine & educational programmes organized by Nature & Photography Club.

Welcome to the Healing Through Nature blog!
Welcome to the very first Healing Through Nature blog post. Healing Through Nature is an extension of the official website of the Nature and Photography Club, devoted to integrating fun and learning with the marvels nature and the outdoors. Our contributors offer hands-on environmental adventures for everyone, and are dedicated to cultivating an appreciation of the natural world.
Here we will share a lot of great resources found, including news from our members, event updates, and information from our monthly news-teller, Hornbill. Plus, we will have frequent tips, fun facts about nature, and posts from special guest bloggers. We also hope this site serves as a meeting place for the members of the Nature and Photography Club and all nature lovers to share great ideas, fun activities, and special events going on.
Most of all, we hope this resource is helpful to you. Please contact npc.fms.usjp@gmail.com with suggestions, comments or feedback!
